How do you know if you have food allergies

For some people allergic to certain foods may be inconvenient, but not heavy. For others, allergic reactions to food can be intimidating, and even life-threatening. Food allergy symptoms usually occur within a few minutes to two hours after ingestion of the allergen product. Food allergies can be even the first time you eat food.

The most common symptoms of food allergies include:

Tingling or itching in the mouth
Hives, itching or eczema
Swelling of the lips, face, tongue and throat or other parts of the body
Wheezing, stuffy nose or shortness of breath
Abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting
Vertigo, dizzy or faint

Anaphylaxis
For some people, food allergies can cause a severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. This can lead to life-threatening symptoms, including:
The narrowing of the airways and tightening
Swelling of the throat or sensation of a lump in the throat, which hinders breathing
The shock, a serious drop in blood pressure
Rapid pulse
Vertigo, dizziness or loss of consciousness
Emergency care is crucial for anaphylaxis. If untreated can lead to anaphylaxis coma or death.
